Anti-abortion Essay

On August 12, 2010 my gorgeous baby sister was born. She has radiant big blue eyes with a button nose and a rose petal for a mouth. She has small hands with little fingers and it seems like God put permanent moose on her red hair because I have never seen a baby’s hair with so much volume. Although I am not with her, I hear she learns to speak a little more English everyday instead of baby tongue.

This is an untitled essay in the Respect Life’s first essay contest. It tied with Kate Wagner’s essay in the 3rd & 4th grade category with her sister Elizabeth’s essay winning an honorable mention.  How Can I Respect Life?

A Child’s Guide to Respecting Life

      “Be fruitful and multiply!”  God’s voice boomed from the heavens and resonated throughout the Earth he had created.  Since the beginning, God has cherished the life he gave us and set a law before us that instructed us to do the same, and since the beginning his people have violated this law.  When Adam and Eve gave birth to their children Cain and Abel, Cain performed a very sinful act- he took his own brother’s life.

Respect Life

We need to respect all types of life, born and unborn.  Every child, is God’s and should be saved.  All forms of life mean something to someone.  Abortion should never be an answer because of a wreck less mistake.  Life is too special.

This Sunday May 1, 2011,  four of the Respect Life contest winners were awarded their prizes at the 10:30 Mass by Fr. Denny after the announcements.  Two more will be announced next Sunday.
